Privacy Policy for Slipstream

Last updated: 19 August 2026

This policy explains what Slipstream ("the game", "we") collects, why, and what you can do about it. It was written against the game's actual source code rather than from a template — every collection described below corresponds to code that runs, and the "What we do not collect" section is a list of things the game has no capability to do.

Slipstream is published by Diginara. For any question about this policy or about your data, contact diginarastudio@gmail.com.

The short version

Do we know who you are?No. There is no sign-up, no email, no password.
Do we show ads?No. The game contains no advertising SDK.
Do we sell data? No. Never have, no mechanism to.
Do we use the Advertising ID?No. The app does not request the AD_ID permission.
Can you turn off analytics?YesSettings → Privacy, in the game.
Do we ask for location, contacts, camera, files? No. None of those permissions are requested.

What the game collects

1. Gameplay analytics

The game records what happens during play so we can tell which parts are too hard, which cars go unused, and where people stop playing. Typical events are: a run starting and ending, distance and score reached, fuel running out, a daily challenge attempted or completed, a screen being opened, and errors.

Alongside these, Google Analytics for Firebase automatically records a randomly-generated app instance identifier, your app version, device model, operating system version, language, and an approximate region derived from your IP address.

This data carries no name and no identifier you chose. The game deliberately never sends your display name, your leaderboard identity, the names of players in a multiplayer lobby, or any free text you have typed.

You can turn this off. Open Settings → Privacy in the game and switch analytics off. It is on by default. Turning it off stops collection from that moment; it does not retroactively delete events already recorded, though those events are not linked to you in any way that would let us find them.

2. An anonymous account

When you first use the online leaderboard, the game creates an anonymous Firebase account. This produces a random user ID and nothing else — no email, no password, no profile. Its only purpose is to make sure that the leaderboard row you write is yours and cannot be overwritten by someone else.

If you sign in with Google Play Games, that anonymous account is linked to your Play Games profile so your scores survive a reinstall.

3. The online leaderboard

If you submit a score, the game uploads exactly these fields:

One row per player, holding your best result. Nothing else is uploaded and no history of individual runs is kept.

Your display name is public — anyone viewing the leaderboard sees it. Choose accordingly; you can change it at any time in Settings → Player Name.

4. Push notifications

If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging issues your installation a registration token so we can send things like a daily-challenge reminder. The token identifies the installation, not you, and is regenerated if you reinstall. Declining the permission, or turning notifications off in Android's settings, stops this entirely.

5. Google Play Games Services

If you choose to sign in, Play Games handles achievements and its own leaderboards. That is a Google service governed by Google's privacy policy; we receive your Play Games player ID and your achievement progress, not your Google account credentials. Signing in is optional and the game is fully playable without it.

6. Local multiplayer

Multiplayer runs over your local network. While you are in a lobby, other players on that same network can see your display name and your device's local IP address, which is how devices find each other. None of this passes through our servers — it does not leave your network.

7. Data that stays on your device

Your settings, progress, garage, currency and display name are stored in a file on your device. Uninstalling the game deletes it.

What we do not collect

To be concrete, the game requests only five Android permissions — internet, network state, Wi-Fi state, Wi-Fi multicast (for finding local multiplayer games), and vibrate.

It therefore cannot, and does not, collect: your location, your contacts, your calendar, photos or files, microphone or camera input, your phone number, your email address, installed-app lists, or the Android Advertising ID.

There is no advertising SDK in the game. There are no in-app purchases and no payment processing of any kind.

Who else sees this data

Google, as our infrastructure provider — Firebase Analytics, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging and Play Games Services are all Google products. Their handling is covered by the Google Privacy Policy and, for the Firebase products specifically, the Firebase Privacy and Security page.

Nobody else. We do not sell, rent or trade data, and we share it with no third party for their own purposes. We would disclose data if legally compelled to.

Google processes this data on servers that may be outside your country, including in the United States.

How long it is kept

Analytics events are retained on Google's default schedule for Firebase Analytics and then deleted automatically. Your leaderboard row persists until you ask us to remove it. Your push token is discarded when it stops being valid, which happens when you uninstall.

Your choices

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase your data, and to object to processing. Write to diginarastudio@gmail.com and we will action it.

Children

Slipstream is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided data, contact diginarastudio@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Security

Traffic to our services uses HTTPS. Leaderboard writes are constrained by server-side rules so that one player cannot alter another's row. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects what we collect, note it in the app's release notes.
